Artist's Description

There is nothing quite so majestic as a male African Lion in his prime and this one was in the peak of condition, he even had a little scar on his cheek to prove how tough he was.

Powerful and majestic, the king of the beasts has no natural predators. But unthinkably, African lion numbers have plummeted by over 40% in the last three generations, due to loss of living space and conflict with people.

Lions are the most sociable of all big cats. They live in groups called prides, which usually consist of related females and their cubs. Dominant males, with their flowing manes (a sign of virility), fight to maintain breeding rights.

Three-quarters of African lion populations are in decline. With only around 20,000 in the wild, they’re now officially classified as ‘vulnerable’

About Brian Tarr

Brian Tarr

I guess I'm really a frustrated artist. I used to paint in pastels mainly, my favourite subjects being wildlife, portraits and realism and I have always been interested in photography. Then shortly after I retired I discovered Photoshop and realised that I could paint the pictures I saw in my mind digitally and I have been following the "Photo Art" direction ever since. I have recently embraced AI art and now most of my images are created in Midjourney, Photoshop and Topaz . I like all forms of Art, Abstract, photo realistic, Portrait, Landscape etc but my favourite is in Wildlife. Outside of my family and creating art, my main interests are music and Liverpool FC.
