Description
There is a Gypsy horse fair at Appleby in Westmorland in England where the gypsies all congregate once a year to buy and sell their horses and generally have a good time together.
One of the main sights at the fair is the trotting that goes on in Flash Lane, where they put their horses through their paces and race them up and down the lane for the prospective buyers to assess.

Thanks Karen, the Gypsies seemed to just ride them neck deep in the river and leave them to dry themselves.
