Description
The Ellen Kelly is moored on the Dee Estuary, near Heswall in the north of England. This was taken at low tide at sunset and at the time the boat was having some restoration work done, hence the planks on the roof. I'm not certain, but I think the boat was named after Ned Kelly's mother, who was born in Ireland but emigrated to Australia where she and her family lived a very wild and lawless life, before she died in 1923.

Beautiful colours in this lovely scene Brian! My first thought when I read Ellen Kelly was of Ned Kelly's mother. I live in the area known as "Kelly Country", the area where the Kelly family lived
