Description
Lindisfarne Castle is a 16th-century castle located on Holy Island, near Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland, England, much altered by Sir Edwin Lutyens in 1901. The island is accessible from the mainland at low tide by means of a causeway.
These fishing boats are moored and sometimes neglected on the mainland, looking out towards the castle on a stormy day.

Awesome image! Many interesting details in this photo....from the castle, to the wonderful clouds to the assortment of boats in the foreground!

A fantastically unique and interesting image, Brian ... love the contemporary foreground with the working boats scattered about, some (all?) seemingly abandoned. Love the one right in front with the weeds growing up in the middle!! The way the boats are being watched over by an amazing castle (of all things!!!) and how all elements rest underneath a brooding and ominous sky as if the Universe is trying to tell us something, if only we'd listen. Magical ... as always!!!!! l/f and t

Thanks for your lovely comments Lois. Lindisfarne is a really magical place and the castle on the island is called Holy Island, there is always a special atmosphere around there.
